Has anyone out there had any experience with using a good grade of compressed air quick attachment fittings for use as propane fittings after the gas has been reduced to a lower pressure on the out side of the regulator?

I am considering this so as to be able to use one tank and regulator for three applications.

The fittings would be in use only when the forge was working. It WOULD NOT be a storage or continued use. The Propane would be turned off at both the tank and the regulator between uses. The pressure would be 0nly 8 to 10 pounds. No "IMPORT" fittings would be used. I am thinking that it would be practical. Any comments?
