folks,
a week ago I received a note from Wayne Coe saying that Tim Kris died. If you have attended a Campbell School course you may have had a chance to meet Tim and admire his shop and museum in Brasstown NC. Tim was a great sponsor of first class blacksmithing and was quite accomplished himself. On his property he liked to show off his expansive well equipped shop, including a huge 2-phase driven power hammer, a complete pattern shop and a museum with a vast array of anvils from 2000 years ago until today. In his three-legged dog pub he liked to be gracious host and freely dispensed Guinness in this dry county. He and Judy Berger from the Blue Moon Forge have created a book featuring his anvil collection. Apparently Tim was going blind. Now he sees the light above us. Dietrich |
