Yes, I was aware he had died. I saw a notice of his estate sale last year in an antiques magazine and found out after asking around that he had passed. I fondly remember several visits to the shop and the pub, where I was still after many years able to pull a beer with a perfect head --I worked my way through college primarily as a bartender. I sent away for the auction catalogue, but was too late to drive to Asheville for the sale. The catalogue has some wonderful pictures of items from the sale. It was a wonderful collection and its a shame it had to be broken up. I understand some of the lots of assorted tools went for very reasonable prices.
