Since the iron pour is so late in the day, what time will our usual meeting be? Does that start at 2:00 or at the usual time? If so, it will be a really long day and I assume we should bring lunch. Also, how well lit are the areas? My night vision is not the best any more, so I have some concern driving very dark roads in the park. Also seems like a good idea to bring a flashlight to the meeting in case there is a walk from the site of the pour to where we will be able to park. Given the weather report, parkas and mukluks might also be a good idea.

Torch, can you or others shed some light (pun intended)?

Our meeting will be at its normal time of 0930. We are planning lunch as always. I believe it will be chicken & dumplings. I know of no plans for supper or what is in the area but I'm pretty sure we can find something. We will be bringing the trailer with 2 forges and I will be bringing an extra anvil.

So far as I know (and its been a few years since I've been to the park) there is no food available in the park. There is a big truck stop at that exit across the interstate, but I'm pretty sure you will have to leave the park to get any food.

Given the temperatures, if anyone has one of those propane heaters, it would be a nice thing to bring. Makes me wish I still had one of my northern Illinois winter coats and long johns.

Given that the pour is in the evening, I'm not sure I've got enough warm clothes to last the whole time, I may just come for the meeting in the morning and get a scratch box at 2:00 and leave it with one of you guys to have it poured. I'm just over a really bad cold and don't need a relapse.
