Just curious if anyone has thought to start a facebook group or would be interested in one. I could start one up and manage it if there is interest!

I was actually wondering the other day why we don't have one.

Seems there is one already, just very dead, haha.
Added 2 hours 55 minutes later: Steven Bailey is the Admin. Is he still active? There have been no posts there since august 14th and that was a post asking for the site to be kept up to date, haha. This post was edited by Sarg (2015-11-11 19:29, ago) |

Interesting. I don't know who Steven Bailey is, but I think that we need to figure out how to take over this group and keep it current as Dan Tull suggested on the group, or make a new one?
Added 30 seconds later: I had no idea that group existed either. Perhaps we need to make it more known that there is one? Added 29 minutes later: I am now in the group and I think I can approve anyone that trys to join. Leave a message here if I I have over looked you and your request has been pending a while. I'd like to get that going again and keep it with current info. Added 9 hours 21 minutes later: I updated it with some info and someone else put up info on something going on this weekend. Hopefully this is the jump start it needed. Please go check out the group. Add anything you thing is relevant and add yourself and others to the group. I am still pending.
I sent him a message and he said he would approve me, but still pending. I will try cancelling and re-applying. |

I don't see one pending in the member requests. I'm new to this whole facebook group thing.

I have run them before and I am running a couple currently. If we can not get some more admins on the page, maybe we should consider making a new page.

Some of us don't do facebook or any other social media for that matter; we're lucky to check in on the website.

Sure, and I get that, and I am not saying to do away with the website, but it is nice for those of us who DO get on facebook. I know I am on there much more regularly than any other website.

What is "Facebook"? I have heard that name, but what does it do? Do you have to point a camera at yourself? I think you leave messages on it, but do they have to be intelligent messages? Who gets the messages? Can you ask questions? If so, who answers them? Are the people who answer them intelligent?

Facebook is a "social media" site. Largely it is a website for sharing stuff with people. You make your profile page which is where you share stuff and people can share stuff on it as well. Likewise, you can share stuff on other people's profiles.
No camera needed, though pictures can be used. Your messages do not have to be intelligent, most probably are not, haha, though they can be. The messages can be received by anyone that you want to share them with, but by default I think anyone can see them. You can ask questions. Most likely your "friends" on facebook will answer them. Whether your friends are intelligent or not might be left up to your discretion. |

Thomas, you were ahead of me answering John Myers. I was going to 'mess' with him, but you gave him the proper reply.
Actually, I feel that facebooking is a waste of my time, but I get great pleasure following pinterest, especially since one can get great ideas and stimulation (some would say I need that at my age). My board is called 'hammered'. John, check it out. Dietrich |

I don't really look around on pinterest anymore. I used to. I mainly just use it to bookmark things for myself now, but there is quite a lot to be inspired by on pinterest.

Dietrich Please don't "mess with me". I'm old, decrepit, sot in my ways, creaky in the joints that still work, and BOTH my daughters (Independently) describe me as weird. I need SYMPATHY.
I have just found Pinterest. I just don't yet know how to navigate in it. I will try to find you there. |
