Tony Mullins and I are back from the folkschool class "trefoil trivet and traditional joinery"
As you can see: I think we did pretty good! The class was held in the new shop. You've got to get a look at it. It's really great! Here's a few shots: The main entrance: Typical forging station: There are pretty of surprising details such as the wooden and steel wedges in the large hammer head at the door: And a few surprises such as this bathroom detail: Since both Tony and I were there on scholarship, expect demos and article from us both. We had a great time! It was a small class (6 students), very good instructor, and the temperature was generally in the high 80's.
. . . . and I didn't burn up too many things! |

Jim it looks great. I am proud to say I know you. How many tries did it take before the trefoil fit tightly in the ring? Did you cheat? Did you use the MIG welder? Aw Heck, forget the questions, they are just the jealousy oozing out.
