I appreciate you getting in touch regarding your blacksmithing program at the Library. We are always interested in opportunities that help push the craft forward, so I am forwarding your message to several smiths in the area who may be interested.
As you alluded to, I serve as the coordinator for programs rather than the instructor you’d be looking to bring in for the event. That said, I have also forwarded your inquiry to the Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association (http://alexbealer.org/), a local blacksmithing guild that may be well suited to assist you.

Additionally, I have copied several highly capable smiths who may reach out directly if their schedules and interests permit.

March 2024 Meeting at Tom Davenhall's Forge
We will start at 9:30 and go to 12:30.
The forge item this month is your choice.

The March 2023 meeting a Tom Davenhall's will have a tool sale from Ed Bond's estate - there are a lot of tools to be sold. Short business meeting at 9:30am. Sale to start after conclusion of meeting.

This an an opportunity to get tools into the hands of folks who are just starting or are still filling our their forge.

There is a refurbished Peter Wright anvil. Hammers, Tongs, Welding tables, paint, hosts, wrenches, screwdrivers, and a plethora of high quality power tools. These will be priced to move.

We will have grab boxes of assorted tools that are chock full of shop tools and accessories that will be at a fixed price and we will draw for the order of picking the box you want.

This sale will be limited to active Alex Bealer Members. There will be an opportunity to renew your membership or join before the sale starts.


We will be able to take cash, check or credit cards. Net proceeds of this sale benefit the estate of Ed Bond - one of the original members and officers of the Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association.

He was a President of the guild at one time.
Many of you knew him better than I and he always was a joy to be around.

Betty Hendrick's brother Bill passed early this morning.

He sailed aboard the USS Enterprise off the coast of Vietnam in late 60's & early 70's.

He had been fighting the debilitating effects of Agent Orange exposure for more than 40 years.
