The Philip Simmons Artist-Blacksmith Guild of South Carolina is organized exclusively for<br />
educational purposes.  Its objectives are to:<br />

- Encourage and facilitate training for aspiring smiths <br />
- Provide information about sources of material and equipment <br />
- Expose the art of blacksmithing to the public <br />
- Serve as a center of information about blacksmithing for architects, interior designers, other interested groups and the general public <br />
<br />
Holds regular meetings six times a year in various parts of the state.   The meetings are in February, April, June, August, October, and December.]]></description>

The Florida Artist Blacksmith Association (FABA) was founded May 18, 1985 by a handful of men and women who wanted to bring resurgence in the art and craft of blacksmithing to Florida. The purpose of the organization is to encourage and develop the art and to educate FABA members and the general public about blacksmithing. Our membership now exceeds 300 members. FABA is recognized as a non-profit, tax-exempt educational organization and is incorporated in the state of Florida.]]></description>

Appalachian Area Chapter of Blacksmiths<br />
<br />
Appalachian Area Chapter of Blacksmiths (AACB), an affiliate of ABANA, is a nonprofit organization that was formed in 1970. It’s founders include, Jud Nelson, Joe Humble, Joe Neely, A.P Billingsley, and Bill Planzer. <br />
<br />
The AACB’s main purpose is education - in an effort to preserve and promote the art of blacksmithing. This is accomplished through informational and educational activities, including workshops, demonstrations, and communications. <br />
<br />
Many of the local forge groups have libraries which may include videotaped demonstrations, newsletters, and various blacksmith publications that are available to members on loan, often free of charge. <br />
<br />
Many of the local forges also have “club” shops that are available for members to use for learning and to work in, in their journey to becoming practiced blacksmiths.]]></description>

What is NC ABANA?<br />
NC ABANA is the North Carolina Affiliate of the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America, an organization of men and women who are practicing and preserving the skills of blacksmithing. The organization includes hobbyists, farriers (people who shoe horses), blade smiths (knife makers), architectural fabricators, sculptors, museum interpreters, furniture makers, and other artists and craftsmen who utilize the traditional skills of the blacksmith to create useful and beautiful objects..<br />

Meetings<br />
The state Chapter meetings are quarterly and are held in different locations throughtout the state at member's shops or homes. They are sometimes held at the NC State fair grounds in Raleigh, NC. The meeting at the John C. Campbell folk school in Brasstown,NC. is not to be missed. Regional area meetings are held on varying schedules throughout the state. Both state and area meetings are anounced in the NCABANA newsletter &quot;The Hot Iron Sparkle&quot; and published on the website.]]></description>

Thirty years ago, the Artist-Blacksmith's Association of North America, Inc. began with only twenty blacksmiths who had a vision. The Ocmulgee Blacksmith Guild seeks to promote the work and trade of blacksmithing, both traditional and modern. Members are drawn from professional and part time blacksmiths, as well as others, who are interested in the craft. All members are welcome participants at our meetings and at our practical workshops which are held at members forges. The guild was formed in 1992 to provide blacksmiths, in central and south Georgia a place to meet. Monthly meetings are conducted on the first Saturday of each month at a predetermined location. This organization is committed to promoting blacksmithing as a high quality and creative craft, which has a growing place in modern society. The guild provides opportunities for teaching and learning about specific areas of blacksmithing and promotes an exchange of creative ideas. <br />
