<description><![CDATA[I started with a wire cup and will be progressing to 80 grit flap disc.<br />
Will have to see if it needs more. Next project is a shovel.<br /><br /><b>Added 7 days later:</b><br /><br />I am really grateful for Saltfork Craftsman and their swage block/Floor cones.<br />
<br />
I went to their site this afternoon and was suprised to find this message.<br />

NOTE: We have unexpectedly run out of swage blocks. Our foundry has been<br />
purchased by a new corporation. It may be the middle to late August before<br />
we have new castings. Please ... check back for updates.&quot;]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Has anyone found any useful techniques for getting a good clean surface on all of the swages without having to buy something to fit each (especially the round ones)? I haven't had much of a chance to clean mine, but I thought it was worth asking if anyone has ideas.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Hi All, For those of you that bought swage blocks and stands, the stands were a BARGAIN!! Torch. Lloyd, and Sean did an excellent job designing and building them. <br />
On my old stand (that I built) I ran into a little issue that when I flipped my block to different positions, it would rock a little bit. This was an issue with the block, not the stand. I fixed it by shimming the corners as needed to make the block rest firmly in all positions. I used small triangles of leather (from the gauntlets of old worn out welding gloves) a little contact cement and the problem was solved. Just throwing it out there. Cheers, Mike L.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Well, I trust everyone is starting on using their swage blocks.<br />
<br />
Here is my first pass at a copper ladel, still have to do the handle.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://alexbealer.org/datas/users/20140629_145647_resized_16.jpg"><img src="http://alexbealer.org/datas/users/20140629_145647_resized_16.jpg" alt="" class="scale" /></a><br />

The bottom turned out a little interesting.<br />
When I heated the copper pipe, it turned black.<br />
Then when I finished the shaping it in the 2 and 1/2 depression, I sanded it with fine grade sanding block. Leaving a marble like finish.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Update:<br />
No information on shipping costs at the moment.<br />
The Swage blocks weigh 65 lbs.<br />
The Anvil Cones weigh 74 lbs.<br /><br /><b>Added 14 days later:</b><br /><br />I have finally gotten shipping figured out.  It is going to be <strong>$12.00 </strong>per item.<br />
<br />
I mentioned the &quot;Floor&quot; cone as an Anvil Cone in a previous post. <br />
These are 36&quot; tall starting at 1 1/4 in diameter and spreading out to 10&quot; at the base.<br />
They have a 12&quot; flange at the bottom so they should be really stable.<br />
They have a tong groove built in.<br />
<br />
Here is the plan, the deadline will be the April meeting at Jim Guy's.<br />
Make your checks out to Alex Bealer.<br />
That allows us to write one check to Saltfork Craftsman and one check for shipping.<br />
I will order them on Monday after the meeting.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[First, Welcome Russ.  <br />
I beleive the price is $120 plus shipping. The blocks are about 60# and come in a 'As Cast' condition. In other words they'll need some cleanup before they can be used. Basicly smooth out the rough edges. Torch can give you more details. <script type="text/javascript">var a96c1c7a9 = [60,97,32,104,114,101,102,61,34,109,97,105,108,116,111,58,84,111,114,99,104,77,117,108,108,105,110,115,64,98,101,108,108,115,111,117,116,104,46,110,101,116,34,62,84,111,114,99,104,77,117,108,108,105,110,115,64,98,101,108,108,115,111,117,116,104,46,110,101,116,60,47,97,62],a96c1c7a9_d = ""; for(var ii = 0; ii < a96c1c7a9.length; ii++) { var c = a96c1c7a9[ii]; a96c1c7a9_d += String.fromCharCode(c); } document.write(a96c1c7a9_d)</script>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[I am a rookie so please bear with my ignorance in the communications procedures within this forum. At the last meeting I believe there was some some discussion regarding the purchase of swage blocks from OK. I would be interested in participating - how do I go about joining in the group order?<br />
Thanks,  Russ Crawford]]></description>
