Winners of the 2009 Scholarships are:
The “Judd Nelson Scholarship” for up to $575.00 for a member to attend any full time blacksmith school or related course of study.
The “Floyd Daniel Scholarship” for up to $575.00 for a member to attend any full time blacksmith school or related course of study.
The “Stan Strickland Scholarship” for up to $575.00 for a member to attend any full time blacksmith school or related course of study.
The “John C. Campbell Scholarship” for up to $412.00 PLUS one half tuition scholarship provided by John C. Campbell Folk School to attend John C. Campbell Folk School to take blacksmith or related course.
Congratulations to all of our scholarship winners. We look forward to their demonstrations of the skills they will learn!
The winners should notify the Secretary/Treasurer by the end of the November 2009 meeting regarding their intentions to use their scholarship award or the scholarship will be passed onto the first alternal.
These scholarships are reimbursement in nature, they are not awards of cash money. The recipient may notify the Secretary/ Treasurer of the dates of the class, the name and address of the school and request payment by presenting a receipt of payment, whereupon the Secretary/Treasurer will make payment in a timely fashion.
Awards are for an amount of money and are not designated as "full week", "weekend" or other stipulation. If the winner of a scholarship wishes to take numerous classes ABBA will reimburse up to the amount of the total award.
